A Russian manicure is a dry technique performed with an electric file instead of water soaking and nippers. The nail artist gently lifts the cuticle and removes only the non-living tissue right up to the nail fold, so gel polish can be applied closer to the skin. The result looks cleaner than a classic manicure and grows out less visibly. With gel polish it typically lasts three to four weeks. At Brilliance Beauty Center in Dubai Marina this technique is performed by Russian- and English-speaking nail artists trained in the dry e-file method.

A classic manicure softens the cuticle in water and trims it with nippers; it is faster and costs less, but the coating starts further from the nail fold and regrowth shows sooner. A Russian manicure is done dry with an e-file: cuticle work is more precise, polish sits right at the nail fold, and the manicure keeps a fresh look longer. A Russian manicure appointment takes about 75–90 minutes; gel polish wear is usually 3–4 weeks. If you have sensitive skin or damaged cuticles, tell your nail artist — the technique is adjusted to you.

1. Consultation and nail check — we assess nail condition and agree on shape, length and coverage.
2. Dry cuticle work — e-file preparation without water soaking, removing only non-living tissue.
3. Shaping and surface preparation — filing, buffing and levelling the nail plate.
4. Coverage — gel polish, hard gel or extension, applied close to the nail fold for a clean grow-out.
5. Finish — cuticle oil, final check and care advice.

Every metal instrument is cleaned and sterilised after each client, and e-file bits are disinfected and sterilised between uses. Files and buffers are single-use or client-dedicated. Your nail artist works in gloves, and the workstation is disinfected before every appointment. The Russian pedicure uses the same dry e-file technique for feet: precise cuticle work, smoothing of rough skin and a clean gel-polish finish that lasts. It is a careful hardware treatment, not a spa soak — suitable for regular maintenance and for preparing feet for sandal season. A pedicure with gel polish takes about 90 minutes.

Gel polish is the standard coverage after a Russian manicure and usually wears 3–4 weeks. Hard gel adds strength for natural nails that chip or bend. Gel extensions build length in short, medium or long variants, with refills recommended every 3–4 weeks. We also do Japanese manicure, French manicure and nail design.
